Hash House Horrors (Singapore) – The Hash for Kids

What an outstanding way to end the Hash season! Thank you to the Bould, Campbell, Graham and Williams families took us back to our old stomping ground is Dairy Farm. It was a wet and muddy adventure filled with little blue arrows to guide our way.

During Circle Time we welcomed many new families to our community and celebrated 5 Horrors receiving their 10th Hash medal and 1 receiving her 25th Hash medal! Welcome new families and congratulations to our 6 Horrors for showing such commitment to the Hash!

The Hash will be taking a break until August 18 when the Porter and Wright families bring us Hash 977. The Committee is planning to have new T-shirts ready to be ordered when we return. In the interim, take your Hash shirts around the world with you and photograph your Horrors on tour and share them with us via Instagram , we would love to see where you go!

Finally, a heartfelt THANK YOU from the Hash Committee for making this such a vibrant community. Be well and see you in August!

What an outstanding adventure in Dempsey. The Dibben and Graham Families took us on a long, wet and muddy Hash through jungles, parks and some VERY nice houses! These Hares did an amazing job battling the elements and adding more chalk to the course that the rain was washing away. If you have any other photos, please share with me!!

Circle time featured a camp style singing lesson and it was wonderful to hear so many people learning the Hash songs! We also awarded 3 Horrors their 10th Hash medals!

We were so proud of all the Horrors who came with updated Hash Passports, we love to see them putting some time and care into their Hash memories.

June 16 will be our final Hash until August. Please keep your eyes open because the Hares and the Committee are planning something special for Hash 976.

An enormous “THANK YOU” to the Lobb and Vaulkhard families for welcoming Hash 974 to their jungle. This was a running Hash that took us over roads, across fields and through jungles. We had a HUGE turnout with so many new Horrors enjoying the Hash for their first time.

We have 2 Hashes left before summer so keep your eyes open for information about the June 2 Hash brought to you by the Dibben and Graham families and mark June 16 on your calendars!

A few notes to help us with.

1. Remember you MUST come and register with Chris and Kelly to make sure your Horrors’ Hashes are counted. We work really hard to keep our tallies accurate but we need your help!
2. The RSVP form is crucial for us to know approximately how many Horrors we are catering for. No one likes running out of ice-cream. But remember EVERYONE IS ALWAYS WELCOME!!!
3. Hash Passports: These should be filled out by your Horrors (if they can write!). It is a record of their Hashing career and they should be putting some love into them.
4. Please help keep your Horrors focused during Circle Time. Circle Time is an important part of each Hash and a time to recognise the achievements of others.

From pouring rain in 972 to a perfect Singapore afternoon in 973 our Horrors are experiencing some of the best Singapore has to offer! An enormous “THANK YOU” to the Herrick family who stepped in to bring us Hash 973 at Colbar. The Herricks are first time Hares and reflected on what a fun family experience setting a Hash was.

We continue to have loads of new families joining us every two weeks and we appreciate everyone who brings along a friend to share in this fantastic Singapore tradition. We also continue to celebrate Horrors reaching Hash milestones with two more receiving their 10th medals yesterday!

Hash passports are also a big hit with the Horrors. Please remind them to update them after each Hash (and help our smallest Horrors with the writing!). These are wonderful memories for them to be making and we really want to encourage the Horrors to use them.

Colour is back at the Hash with so many people wearing new and old Hash shirts. If you ordered some and haven’t picked them up, Kellie will have them at the next Hash. If you DIDN’T order some, not worries, we will do a new order in August.

Finally, with our Hareline full until June, we are now looking for Hares when we return in August. The dates we have are:

Thank you to all those who braved the rain for a wet but colourful Hash 972. Horrors returned to Mandai after many years and were treated to monkeys, boars, snakes (it was very small), lightning, reservoirs, drains, candy checks and Mr. Hoes amazing lasagna! We had many new Horrors and 2 Horrors receiving their 10th medals! Thank you to Espen “Bathead” Hoff and Zack “Monkey Whacker” Moseley for setting a great Hash!

A huge thank you to Kellie for organising the new T-shirts. It was wonderful to see Horrors back in colourful hash T-shirts. For those who missed the order, we will be doing more shirts in August.

We are in desperate need of Hares for the May 5th Hash. This community functions on families volunteering to set runs. The Hash Committee has lots of experience and will help you along the way. PLEASE REACH OUT TO US ASAP IF YOU WILL SET THE MAY 5 HASH!

Thank you to the Saunders family and their Horrors, Legs on Fire and Jungle Hyena for a classic Bukit Brown Cemetery Hash. It was a beautiful evening and over 40 Horrors enjoyed it!

For Hash 972 Horrors Bat Head and Monkey Whacker will be taking the Hash to explore an area we haven’t visited in years! Keep your eyes open for the starting location.

Also on April 21 our new t-shirts should be ready for distribution! We are so excited to have the Hash starting to match again!

We are still in need of Hares (families to set the Hash) on May 5, 19 and June 16. Please reach out to us if you are will to contribute to our community and remember that we are here to help you through the process!

Thank you to the Anderson and Wetzki Families for putting on a great Hash 970 in Clementi. We appreciate the community being so flexible and accommodating the location change! We had loads of new Hashers which reminds us that Singapore still has more kids for us to turn into HORRORS!!!

What a beautiful afternoon in Bukit Brown Cemetery. The Barron Family took us on a classic Hash! We had loads of new Horrors and 3 Horrors receive their 10th Hash medals. Thank you to everyone for being flexible with the late change in starting location! Make sure you join our Whatsapp group so you have the most up to date information.
