Hash #927: “SHN”

On Back! Whilst Hashing, specifically with Horrors is an excellent physical activity and any and all damage done – physically, emotionally, spiritually, virually and various other forms that your lawyer and you can think of means the individual is ultimately responsible for anything that happens, but one thing the Hash cannot be is out of sync with requests from the countries government.

Last night’s notice stating that outside gatherings of 250 people are now to move to no more than 10 people makes running a Hash impossible and hence this Sunday’s Hash is Off Off.

With just under 100 Horrors, Harriers and Harriets signed up through the Declaration Form for this Sunday’s Hash and with some inside information on what the Robyn family had installed for us – short but with elevation and deep jungle, as well as climbing in/out canals – it is a great shame that we have had to put the Hash on a Stay at Home Notice!

Our Hash continues to go from strength to strength and is shown mostly through having a rather strong Hareline until the summer holiday break – thank you to everyone who has volunteered to set a Hash – we cannot Hash without you and as many can attest setting a Hash is a lovely way to spend time with your kids and members of the Committee are very happy to help out!

Further, given the quorum requirements, the delayed AGM which was to be held during the St John’s Island weekend and was going to be held during the Easter Holidays looks like this will be either postponed again, or we may try and hold this electronically – Beer Check!

Lastly, but not least, please join me, your web hash in thanking this coming Sunday’s Hares (family Robyn) the committee who do this just for the beer, Mr Hoe for the nourishment and all of you, for making every second Sunday a lot of good clean, but dirty fun with our kids seeing parts of Singapore those of us living in Singapore will never experience in a different way but unfortunately this Sunday’s Hash is Off Off

However, at around 18:00 on Sunday I trust we will hear the family sounds of Hashers partaking in Down-Downs and perhaps event inventing a new Hash Hymn for us all to learn once we have beaten Covid-19 together.

ON, ON all you Horrors……….we will be sending through Hash e-learning for all to keep you Horrific, Respect!

Review of Hash #926: “Coney’d”

Whilst Hashing, specifically with Horrors is an excellent physical activity and any and all damage done – physically, emotionally, spiritually, virually and various other forms that your lawyer and you can think of means the individual is ultimately responsible for anything that happened at last Sunday’s Hash. This includes being executed with cold, mushy, sticky dry ice!

Mia (first time Hare, Respect!) invited the Hash up to her favourite coastal spot in northeastern Singapore within the town of Punggol and set a Hash with reusable torn bedsheets around the Lorong Halus Wetland through unique wetland bush, across the bridge to Coney Island, alternatively known as Pulau Serangoon, along the beach, or sea depending on how you did this section, back through the entertainment area, back across the bridge and home – On! On!. Live entertainment provided, other than the sweets halfway were the numerous butterflies, birds, large red ants and squirrels, the lovely beaches, boats in full sail and the wild boar and a Brahman Bull!

With 34 guest Horrors along with our regular Horrors feed/watered Circle Time was held next to the lake in the late afternoon sun. Down Downs were fun and lively as the Horrors thanked Mia (one more to go Mia and your get your Hash name) for setting the Hash, a very busy welcome to our newbies, and after a very deserving medal winner was celebrated with further Down Downs for completing 10 Hash’s we proceeded to execute those deemed to have gone the wrong way during the Hash – all magnanimously accepted the nomination but I’m not sure the Newbies quite expected what was coming!

To make the Hash even more sustainable we do need to hold our delayed AGM which was to be held during the St John’s Island weekend and as no-one wants us we thought we would do this during the Easter Holidays – more google forms!!.

Lastly, but not least, please join me, your web hash in thanking today’s Hare (Mia and the de Klerk family) the committee who do this just for the beer, Mr Hoe for the nourishment and all of you, for making every second Sunday a lot of good clean, but dirty fun with our kids seeing parts of Singapore most living in Singapore will never experience in a different way as one Horror said: “We actually had to run most of that Hash!”

ON, ON all you Horrors……….

Review of Hash #925: “The Rains of Mayfair Park”

Whilst Hashing, specifically with Horrors is an excellent physical activity and any and all damage done – physically, emotionally, spiritually, virually and various other forms that your lawyer and you can think of means the individual is ultimately responsible, today’s Sunday Hash was like an episode of Game of Thrones (“actual quote from a Harrier”) with drains, mud, animals, signs made from wood, blood, real-time live surgery, and a large contingent, including committee members whom got wonderfully lost and then, decided to storm a fence with as many bannermen as possible!

Calm returned as the Horrors showed those on the correct side of the green fence the route home until Circle Time – a combination of a large number of very welcome newbies, some who tried to storm the Downs Downs thanking Fiery Dragon and Mozzie Masher setting the Hash, and after two very deserving medal winners where celebrated with further Down Downs for completing 10 Hashs each we somehow managed to reincarnate The Red Wedding whilst executing those who had stormed the Green Fence, including some very honest Horrors who thought the Green Fence was the little fence they climbed on the way to/from the drain……..!

Our Hash is going from strength to strength and is shown mostly through having a rather strong Hareline until the summer holiday break – thank you to everyone who has volunteered to set a Hash – we cannot Hash with you and as many can attest setting a Hash is a lovely way to spend time with your kids, or as a group of friends exploring a part of Singapore. Respect!

Lastly, but not least, please join me, your web hash in thanking today’s Hares (Fiery Dragon and Mozzie Masher, even though I have a feeling some thought the circle time celebration was a snubbed wedding, given the massacre during the execution) the committee who do this just for the beer, Mr Hoe for the nourishment and all of you, for making every second Sunday a lot of good clean, but dirty fun with our kids seeing parts of Singapore most living in Singapore will never experience and as one Horror said: “I don’t like the dark and drains, but that was fun!”

ON, ON all you Horrors……….

“On-Back” Hash No: 924 has been Corona’d!

Whilst Hashing is an excellent activity where any and all damage done – physically, emotionally, spiritually, virally and various other forms that your lawyer and you can think of means the individual is ultimately responsible – we have had the “Back Check” call and everything has gone ORANGE!

Weekend Hash is Off-Off. Horrific!

Before we all stop at the Beer-Check, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Committee who have spent the last 3 – 4 months planning our Weekend Hash. Whilst in your quarantine this weekend please do join me in a moment of Down-Downs for our Committee, specifically as there is talk the Committee is going to deal with their grief by putting tents up in someones back garden and organise a Treasure Hunt!

The good news is that this interruption of Annual Hashing Ethos is a clear Violation and we will certainly go ahead with the Hash Weekend when we have Down-Downed all Corona’s – until then it’s On On with our regular Sunday Hash’s – our Horrors need some exercise, and there is nothing better than sunlight, fresh air and disappearing into areas where humans have not been to stay healthy in this current environment!

For those FRB’s who have made a payment, thank you. We will be in touch directly to put this right.

Next Hash is in 9 days, at 16:00 for 16:30 on Sunday the 16th of February and is being set by our Weekend Hash guest Hare……………….. Respect!

Until next Sunday, drive safely! Long Live Hash No: 924
